"Flow Control" refers to the controlling of a respondent's movement through a questionnaire based upon certain rules. Advanced Page branching makes it possible to hide entire questionnaire pages based upon the responses to other questions. Advanced flow control differs from simple flow control in the following ways:

Advanced flow conditions can be based on answers to multiple questions
More complex comparisons can be made (eg. equals, not equals, contains) in advanced flow conditions
All question types are available for advanced flow conditions (simple flows are always based on single-selection range-of-values questions)

In the example below, the advanced flow will hide a page with questions for smokers if the respondent is not a smoker, or has not smoked for an extended period of time:
