Professional Quest Feature

Advanced Reporting and Web Functionality Return to Versions  Previous Feature  Next Feature

The "real-time" nature of SQL Data opens up greater Web functionality, because any changes from a Web page updates the same database that is used by the Professional Quest client software. Thus there is no risk of data becoming out of "sync".

For example, a respondent may self-register on the Web site, and their respondent record is immediately updated in Professional Quest. If an Access database is used instead, that new respondent record is not "known" to the client software until it is imported from the Web database at some later stage.

There are also benefits from the speed and capability of a SQL Server database (which can handle much more complex queries). The response analysis report (shown on the right) is an example of a report that is only available to users of the SQL Server module - creating this report from an Access database would be too slow and cumbersome, and therefore is not available.
