We have created a straightforward licensing matrix for the base Professional Quest product that is based upon two factors - who you will be creating surveys for, and what set of features you need. Additional licensing is also available for specialised modules.
All licensing is done on a per workstation basis. A license has to be purchased for each machine that Professional Quest will be run on. Determining the exact license you need is a simple three-step process as outlined below.

If you intend to use Professional Quest to create surveys for your clients (as opposed to using it for internal surveys), then you have to use a "consultants license". This license entitles you to create an unlimited number of surveys using the software for your clients. Note that step 2 below can be skipped if you need a consultants license - the consultants licence has all the features of the Enterprise Edition as standard.

If you are not using the Consultants license (ie. you are going to make an outright purchase of the software for surveys related to your organisation only), then you must next decide what level of features you require. The key features that need to be considered include:
 |
The largest number of responses that need to be entered into a single survey |
 |
Whether pages and flow control is needed in your surveys |
 |
The types of distributions you wish to use |
 |
The level of analysis and reporting needed |
 |
Whether advanced features such as export to SPSS is required |
There are four levels of license ranging from "Personal" to "Enterprise", each with a progressively higher level of features. For a full description of these features, click on the link below.

Specialised functionality is provided through a number of additional modules. Note that these modules may only be purchased as additions to the "Platinum" or "Enterprise" Editions of Professional Quest. The licensing cost for these modules is a per workstation charge, except for the 360° Feedback Module (licensing is based on the number of people being reviewed for this module). The modules available are described below.
| SQL Server Module |
This module provides connectivity to SQL Server (it does not include a license for SQL Server - you must already own a license). Click here for more details about this module. |
| 360° Feedback Module |
The 360° Feedback module is used to conduct employee evaluations. It features a complete relationship system, and specialised reports. Click here for more details about this module. |
| Market Research Module |
Market research surveys are generally more complicated than standard surveys, and require added features such as question randomisation and response quota management. Click here for more details about this module. |
